Mr. Neumuth's Teaching Portfolio!
My time student teaching at Ellington Middle School was an incredible experience. I had the opportunity to grow as an educator, build strong relationships with students, and see firsthand how powerful physical education can be in shaping confidence, teamwork, and joy. I’m thankful to have learned from such a supportive staff and community.

I believe teaching is about creating a space where every student feels seen, supported, and capable of growth both in and out of the classroom. My goal is to help kids develop not just physical skills but also confidence, teamwork, and a love for movement. I try to make every lesson meaningful, fun, and inclusive, and I am always looking for ways to connect with students and meet them where they are. Teaching to me is more than instruction. It is about relationships, energy, and showing up every day with purpose.

Volleyball Unit
Led an engaging volleyball unit focused on skill development, teamwork, and student growth through modified games and structured practice.

During my student teaching at Ellington Middle School, I led a volleyball unit that helped students develop not only their skills, but also their confidence and teamwork. Many who had never played before were serving, bumping, and working together by the end of the unit.

The volleyball unit I taught gave students the opportunity to work on essential movement patterns like striking, footwork, and body control. We broke down the skills into approachable parts and gradually built toward full gameplay. Watching students apply what they learned in competitive and cooperative settings was a highlight of my experience.
Pickleball Unit
I led a pickleball unit that introduced students to the fundamentals of the game while building their confidence, coordination, and ability to work cooperatively in both singles and doubles play.
Throughout the pickleball unit, students developed forehand and backhand strokes, learned how to serve and rally, and participated in assessments that tracked progress in both gameplay and cognitive understanding of the rules.
Through ongoing feedback and peer collaboration, students showed strong improvement in their rally consistency and ability to communicate effectively with partners during gameplay.
